Chapter 14.
âAre you all right now?â Lillian asked the next morning when I came back to the inn for breakfast. And now I regretted returning this early. I had a great time in the forest last night. It was so peaceful and quiet that I fell asleep almost instantly. But the only drawback when sleeping outside was the sunlight. Even though I was in the forest; the trees werenât that thick as to block the sun completely.
Also, I put the bed in a place that looked good at that moment, without considering where the east and west were located. So the next morning the sunlight hit me directly in the face.
Lina silently added some more bacon to my plate, while Lillian waited for an answer she wasnât going to get.
Ah, as expected of wife number one, my faithful kitty. She not only cares about me, but can also read the mood most of the time.
âWe still have some bandit quests to do. Are we going to hunt them after breakfast?â This time Nistry chimed in, pushing herself to make some small talk.
Sure, I was planning to go hunting bandits. But who knows? The day barely started.
Oh, my, this cheese is delicious.
âThatâs right, if weâre lucky, we could raid another bandit hideout.â Milia said, putting a sausage and some pickles on her plate.

Man, there sure was one hell of a luck involved in their comments. Did they think someone was selling âluckâ for coppers?
And what does she mean by âwe could earn a nice sumâ? We? Since when did you girls cared about earning money?
âI-I will also give my bestâ¦â
Bang!
I slammed the table with the cup I was holding, and some of the yogurt spilled around.
Dammit all. That was some delicious, creamy yogurt.
Ahsha took the cup from me and gave me another one, while Isa cleaned the table with a towel.
The two slave girls were having breakfast with us in one of the innâs private lunch rooms. They were very good and attentive, so I was thinking of employing them as maids, instead of sending them to the brothel.
âWhy the hell are you here?â I asked the person I really didnât expect to see today.
Janey, the wolf-kin girl we saved yesterday, was sitting comfortably with us at the big table that I paid for, while eating the breakfast that I paid for.
Did I also have to PAY FOR her to leave?
âI-I-I-â
âShe wanted to repay you for saving her and giving back her equipment.â Lillian said in a hurry, when the girl stuttered. And she sounded proud about it for some reason.
I donât get it. Proud? Why?
Oh, right? Lillian is a knight, so this
